Meet the Author:

Catherine Baker Nicholson had her own athletic career and even won a collegiate national championship in the 800-meter run. She gave up the practice of law to raise and homeschool her four children, one of whom later died of brain cancer. Today, she lives in the Omaha, Nebraska, area with her husband and near her father, Thane Baker, the subject of her book. Beginning each day with prayer, she studies, writes, volunteers, and adores her children and grandchildren.

Thane Baker is a native of Elkhart, Kansas and was inducted into the K-State Hall of fame and the USATF Hall of fame. As an Olympian, he won the silver medal in the 220-yard dash at the 1952 games in Helsinki, Finland. He came back in 1956 to claim three medals at Melbourne, Australia. His military service began when he joined KSU’s ROTC. He then spent three years in the Air Force and 27 years in the Air Force Reserves, retiring as a Colonel. (bio from K-State Hall of Fame)

July Book Club Take Back Your Brain by Kara Loewentheil

Join Dr. Eleanor Reeds and Jo Bair while they discuss our July book club pick: "Take Back Your Brain: How a Sexist Society Gets in Your Head — and How to Get It Out" by Kara Loewentheil! (If you don’t know Kara, she’s a feminist thought work expert, and creator of the Unf*ck Your Brain Podcast!)
This groundbreaking book invites us into a profound conversation about feminist mindset principles, and how changing our thoughts has the power to change... absolutely everything else in our lives.
